| When I heard this coming over the FM on the Les Claypool late night folk music show on KRHM in LA in 1962, my mind was blown, my senses were stripped and re-configured and my life was changed. A great liberation upon hearing! (as goes the subtitle of the Tibetan Book of the Dead) I could henceforth sing without shame. It was finally alright to sound like myself and not like Andy Williams. Finally realized that I wasn't the only white boy who jonesed for the old time blues, raw, wild, eloquent. |
